![]() ![]() Explore Scientific then also rebranded the same mount (presumably due to their affiliation with Bresser). Bresser was the first to rebrand this old Meade LXD75 mount. There are two versions of the older EXOS2-GT. But my set up is a Vixen GP with the EQStarPro GoTo system. I'm not in front of my mount or laptop at the moment, but that's what I remember as being the glitch on the Stellarium connection with my set up. If it is still connected in ASCOM, Stellarium might see it but can't connect because that COM port is in use by ASCOM. Be sure to close the ASCOM connection first. If THAT connection can be made, then Stellarium should be able to connect to it. Make sure you choose that COM port in the ASCOM connection setting.Īlso in the ASCOM connection setup, choose the EQ6 mount option (seems to be the "general" one that works best). It should see the mount as a device and what COM port it is using. Look in the Windows settings, under devices. Longstanding issue, which is why they dropped support for it and went to the newer PMC-Eight system. I did have a Bresser mount, the EXOS2-GT, but note that the ST-4 port is dead as far as having any ability to connect to a computer to control it. ![]() So back to my Stellarium serial problem: am I supposed to use my Exos-2 as a Meade compatible mount? What set-up shall I use exactly, then? I sent Bresser another e-mail maybe they'll have something useful to reply me tomorrow. So I can't use ASCOM driver for the moment. The bug being: when I select their driver as an ASCOM device, I'm forced to set it up and when I open the set up window there's an exception which prevents me from going any further. ![]() I've asked Bresser about it long ago and they could not be of any help. I've tried googling / youtubeing around (more) and haven't found anything of help.Īs for your suggestion of Bresser's ASCOM driver: I wanted to use Stellarium serial functionality because I have a bug in Bresser ASCOM driver. My suggestion - YouTube search "Stellarium connection to mount" or similar and watch a few videos just to see if their setup process is similar to yours (even if it is a different mount). ![]()
